Excavation has begun for a three-story plus basement, two-unit residential building at 2130 South May Street in Pilsen. Included in the task is the removal of old foundations from the previous structure demolished in 2017. The most recent Google images of the property show the lot overgrow with vegetation, hiding the concrete remnants that need to be removed before the new basement can be dug out.
A new residential building will fill a gap in the street wall on West 22nd Place in the Pilsen Neighborhood. 1830 West 22nd will be a four-story, five-unit masonry structure. A permit came through on February 25 with a $1 million reported cost, 40 days after its application date of December 15.
Precast concrete panels have been lifted to the eighth floor of the Casa Yucatan affordable housing development at South Ashland Avenue and West 21st Place in Pilsen. There’s a ways to go before this one tops out though, as only a handful of the pieces are in place on the top floor.

A permit for new construction was issued this month by the City of Chicago to erect a residential building on the vacant lot at 2006 South Allport Street in Pilsen. The subject parcel stands on a corner site formed by the alley that connects to the rear of the property, adjacent to Perez Elementary School immediately north.
