Additionally, the design will include three rear metal balconies, two rooftop stairway enclosures, a front metal entry ramp, and rear concrete steps with an additional parking stall accessible from the alley.

The project, listed under the owner name 1700 Property LLC, will feature a four-story building with twelve residential units and ground-floor retail space. The parcel currently sits vacant with vegetation overgrowth.

A construction permit has been approved for a new residential development located at 1007 W Cullerton Street in Pilsen. The project will see the construction of a three-story building with two duplex units and a basement. Also noted in the filing was a private rooftop deck and a three-story open steel porch in the rear yard. This new building will occupy a previously vacant site owned by Sergio Garcia, who is also the acting general contractor.

18th & Peoria Framework Plan Approved By Plan Commission

The first approval has been granted for the 18th & Peoria framework plan in Pilsen by the Chicago Plan Commission. Previously announced in March of this year, the 6.3-arce site has belonged to the city since 2022 after some failed attempts to be redeveloped. Now the city and the Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) are leading the masterplan efforts designed by AECOM with local firms UrbanWorks and Koo Architecture.

Construction Enters Final Stretch for 1606 S Ashland Avenue in Pilsen

Final exterior construction can be seen at the site of the mixed-use 1606 S Ashland Avenue in Pilsen, where the developer 1600 Pilsen LLC has built 24 new rental units and 4,675 square feet of retail. The four-story, roughly 50,000-square-foot structure will replace a former masonry low-rise building, and is located across the street from the high-profile residential conversion of 1600 S Laflin Street, which was recently approved by city council.

A new permit has gotten the green light for a new three-story, six-unit residential building at 1003 W 16th Street in Pilsen. The owner of the project is Parijat Sharma, while the architect is Design 21 Company. Currently the site is home to an overgrown vacant lot surrounded by metal fencing.

Framework Plan Revealed For 18th & Peoria In Pilsen

Formal details have been revealed for the new framework plan of the large lot at W 18th Street and S Peoria Street in Pilsen. The 6.3-acre plot is one of the largest left in the neighborhood and has been owned by the city since mid-2022, when it bought it for $12 million from its previous owner PMG Investments LLC. Now the city itself with the Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) is proposing a plan led by AECOM along with local firms UrbanWorks and Koo Architecture, as part of a $1 billion being spent on affordable housing.

City Council Approves Residential Conversion At 1600 S Laflin Street In Pilsen

The Chicago City Council has approved the residential conversion of the industrial building at 1600 S Laflin Street in Pilsen. Located on the southwest corner with W 16th Street next to rail lines famous for the street art along their base, the project will revitalize the vacant foundry structure that stretches almost the full length of the block. Chicago-based developer RP Fox and Associates is leading the proposal along with Mayer Jeffers Gillespie Architects working on its design.

Construction is getting closer to completion or 2010 S Ashland Avenue, a 16-unit affordable residential project in Pilsen. The development will feature eight one-bedrooms, six two-bedrooms, and two three-bedroom apartments. Amenities will include a community room with a library and lounge, on-site laundry, bicycle storage, and an elevator.
