Permits have been issued for a new residential project at 1828 South Racine Avenue in Pilsen. This project, which was approved on January 18, has a budget of $565,940.

1828 South Racine Avenue, designed by architect Christopher Boehm, will be a two-story building with three dwelling units and a basement. Project plans include a rear porch and three open parking stalls.

General construction responsibilities are being handled by Cill Dara Construction. Masonry work will be carried out by O’Donoghue Builders Inc and O’Hanlon Concrete.

When complete, 1828 South Racine Avenue will be located steps from bus stops for Route 18. Stops for Route 60 are an eight-minute walk to the west of the property. Beyond that, the Halsted Street/University of Illinois-Chicago Metra station, which services the BNSF Railway Train, will be a 14-minute walk to the northeast of the property, and the 18th Street CTA station, which services the Pink Line, will be a 15-minute walk to the west of the property.
