Unimproved and only used for parking as far back as Google Street View allows us to see, 1924 South Carpenter will be a three-story plus basement structure. Its permit was issued on April 28 with a reported cost of $600,000.

Foundation work has begun for a multi-unit residential building at 2006 South Allport Street in the Pilsen neighborhood. Site prep on the previously vacant lot is done, and piles have been driven into the soil ahead of excavation for the basement level. An Oakbrook developer received a permit to begin construction in early January, but it’s unclear when work got started.

Included in the task is the removal of old foundations from the previous structure demolished in 2017. The most recent Google images of the property show the lot overgrow with vegetation, hiding the concrete remnants that need to be removed before the new basement can be dug out.
