A residential development next to the Metra tracks in Pilsen is nearing completion. 1109 West 16th Street is a two-story with finished basement, three-unit building being constructed by developer Joseph Barbaro. A new construction permit was issued for the property back in January of this year, and now it appears that exterior work is complete, and new residents could be moving in very soon. They’ll find one parking space per unit under a carport at the rear of the building, plus a rooftop deck on the residential building and rear decks on both upper floors.

Construction nearly complete on three new residential units at 2019 South Throop Street

Construction progress is nearly complete for three new residential units within a three-story building at 2019 South Throop Street in Pilsen. The City of Chicago issued a permit for the development on January 16 of this year. It replaces a long-vacant lot that sold in 2023 for $230,000, according to Redfin. A Chicago-based LLC is building the residences.

Foundations are underway for eight units at 2100 West 18th Place in Pilsen

Foundation work is underway for an eight-unit residential building at 2100 West 18th Place in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. The four-story development got a construction permit from the City of Chicago on March 27 of this year. That permit indicates these will be rental units by specifying the word “apartments” and also calls for four outdoor parking spaces. It lists Fox Pilsen 4 as the developer, and FGAC Construction as the general contractor. Both companies appear to be affiliates of R.P. Fox & Associates in Oak Park, Illinois. DesignBridge is the architect of record for the project.
