Groundbreaking Timeline Announced for 3636 N Lake Shore Drive in Lake View East

Alderman Cappleman has announced that 3636 N Lake Shore Drive in Lake View East will commence construction during the fourth quarter of this year. The developer for this mixed-use proposal is City Club Apartments, who has planned two new structures to rise on the property. One will be a 19-floor building and the other will be a six-story building, measuring 228 feet and 75 feet, respectively. The two together will house 333 residential units total, along with a 5,000 square-foot restaurant. The residential unit breakdown will include studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences. There will be 145 parking spaces underground and 50 bike parking spaces.

Renovation Permits Issued for Illinois Masonic Hospital Advance Care in Lake View East

A renovation permit was issued yesterday for interior alterations to Illinois Masonic Hospital Advance Care, which is located at 900 W Nelson Street in Lake View East. The renovations on this permit are meant to alter the existing hospital as well as enable future expansion on the site. There will be minor demolitions of select walls, ceilings, piping, as well as structural components and ductwork. These are some of the initial steps being taken in a multi-year project to convert the hospital campus.

Demolition is complete for a two-story masonry building, clearing the way for a four-story mixed-use development at 3322 N Halsted Street in Lake View East. Developer and owner Lion Halsted 3 LLC has planned for seven rental apartments atop 814 square feet of ground-floor retail. There will be five on-site bike spots and two parking spaces.

Further Details Revealed For Hospital Expansion At 900 W Nelson Street In Lake View East

Further details have been revealed for a hospital addition at 900 W Nelson Street in Lake View East. The expansion will be for the Illinois Masonic Hospital which has been slowly re-designing and expanding its existing campus as demand rises and technology changes. The multi-phase plan is being developed by the hospital with SmithGroup working on the building’s design, which was recently submitted for approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services review board.

Foundation Work Progresses for 801 W Belmont Avenue in Lake View East

Initial foundation work can be seen for the newly kicked-off 801 W Belmont Avenue, a two-story commercial development in Lake View East. Planned by Hubbard Street Group, the 59,000-square-foot structure will replace a former masonry bank and surface parking lot, and will provide nearly 300 feet of new frontage along Belmont Avenue.

The mixed-use structure will have ground-level retail and 32 residential units on the upper levels. This development, filed under the name 3211 N Clark LLC, will be replacing a former parking lot.

This Art Deco structure will retain its ground-level retail, while converting the former parking component into 72 apartment units.

Updated renderings have been revealed for a hospital expansion at 900 W Nelson Street in Lake View East. Bound by W Barry Avenue to the north and W Nelson Street to the south, the development proposed a multi-level expansion to the existing facility at the Illinois Masonic Hospital designed by the local office of SmithGroup. The hospital, which has recently completed a new parking garage nearby at 3021 N Sheffield Avenue, looks to proceed with the first half of the third phase of their campus expansion.
