Facade Work Underway for Casa Durango in Pilsen

Facade work and installation are now underway for Casa Durango, a five-story mixed-use building at 1850 S Racine Avenue in Pilsen. The developer, known as The Resurrection Project, has planned for 1,610 square feet of retail and 37 affordable residential units. In order for the development to proceed, the site was re-zoned in 2019 from B3-2 Community Shopping District to B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District. As part of a broader 53-unit affordable housing plan, the developer is also building an additional 16 units nearby at 2008 S Ashland Avenue.

City Council Approves Funds For Roosevelt Square In Near West Side

The Chicago City Council has approved the financing and land-sale for the Roosevelt Square Phase 3B mixed-use development in the Near West Side. Located across multiple parcels mainly around W Taylor Street and W Roosevelt Road, the project is part of the greater Roosevelt Square Plan that includes the rehabilitation of existing apartments, construction of new housing, and a new National Public Housing Museum. The effort is being led by Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority along with various local design firms.

Further Details Revealed For United Yards Development In Back Of The Yards

Updated plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development along 47th Street in Back Of The Yards. The expanded design was recently reviewed by the Committee on Design and builds upon the original RFP submission for the area’s Invest South/West land. Located across five parcels centered on the corner with S Ashland Avenue, the project is being led by developers Celadon Partners and Blackwood Group, LLC with local firm DesignBridge serving as the architects.
