Additional financing has been approved for the affordable housing development at 2136 S Ashland Avenue in the Lower West Side. Set to replace a vacant lot across the street from Benito Juarez High School, the project has received approval from the Community Development Commission for $23 million in TIF funds. Foundations are underway for eight units at 2100 West 18th Place in Pilsen

Foundation work is underway for an eight-unit residential building at 2100 West 18th Place in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. The four-story development got a construction permit from the City of Chicago on March 27 of this year. That permit indicates these will be rental units by specifying the word “apartments” and also calls for four outdoor parking spaces. It lists Fox Pilsen 4 as the developer, and FGAC Construction as the general contractor. Both companies appear to be affiliates of R.P. Fox & Associates in Oak Park, Illinois. DesignBridge is the architect of record for the project.

Partial Funding Announced For 1237 N California Avenue In West Town

Potential partial funding has been announced for the affordable housing development at 1237 N California Avenue in West Town. Located on the intersection with W Crystal Street and across the street from Humboldt Park itself, the project will be replacing a now vacant lot. Efforts are being led by the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation with local-firm DesignBridge working on its design.
