Three-Story Commercial Building Coming to 1100 W Randolph Street in West Loop

A full construction permit has been issued for a new three-story mixed-use commercial building at 1100 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market District. L3 Capital has planned to deliver 30,000 square feet of new retail and office space, whose containing parcel stretches along Randolph Street in parallel with 160 N Aberdeen Street which is now under construction. L3 acquired this parcel in 2018, previously occupied by a masonry private family office building. As per the developer’s website, all three floors of the future structure are still available for lease, with planned retail on the first and second levels and office space on the third level.

Initial Details Revealed For The Redevelopment Of 900 N North Branch On Goose Island

Initial details have been revealed for the redevelopment of an existing commercial building at 900 N North Branch Street on Goose Island. Located just west of the intersection with N Halsted Street, the existing masonry-clad, industrial-style building most famously housed local culinary school Kendall College for many years and is now being pivoted as class A office space. Owner and developer W.P. Carey is working with Madison Rose on the project and are currently in the selection process for an architect to execute the renovations.

Water Tower Place Changes Hands On Michigan Avenue

The famed Water Tower Place Mall at 835 N Michigan Avenue on the Magnificent Mile has been turned over to its lender. Located between E Chestnut Street and E Pearson Street just south of the John Hancock Tower, the retail location has occupied the full block site since the 1970’s. Most recently owned by New York-based Brookfield Properties who operate retail locations across the nation, the mall will now be in the hands of MetLife Investment Management which is a part of the insurance company.

City Council Approves New High-Rises In Fulton Market

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for two new high-rises in Fulton Market. The projects are located on opposite ends of the district, with the residential-based 1353 W Fulton Street anchoring the west end of the growing area and 360 N Green Street continuing the string of commercial mixed-use properties along Green Street on the eastern end of the neighborhood. Both towers recently received Plan Commission approval as well.
