Rush University Medical Center’s 10-story cancer and neuroscience building has structurally topped out in Little Italy, across the street from the hospital’s recently completed main building.
Permits have just been filed for 1023 W Irving Park Road in Lake View, on a block bound by W Irving Park Road, N Sheridan Road, and subway tracks where the Red and Purple Lines bend around both sides. The nearest public transportation is the CTA L Red Line’s Sheridan Station, which is located on the same block. Nearby bus stops include Route 80, Route 151, and the express Route 9 are all within a minute’s walk from the site.
Permits were approved last month for a five-story mixed-use building at 946 W Wellington Avenue in Lake View East, Chicago. Located between W Shubert Avenue and W Diversey Parkway, the interior lot is steps from the Wellington CTA L station, serviced by the Brown and Purple Lines and five blocks south of the Belmont station, which is also serviced by the Red Line. Advocate-Aurora Illinois Masonic Medical Center is listed as the owner behind the applications, reporting $20.5 million as the cost for the development.
