Demo Permits Issued for Howard Brown Health Clinic at 3501 N Halsted Street in Boystown

Demolition permits have now been issued for two single-story masonry buildings, clearing the way for a new Howard Brown Health Clinic to be located at 3501 N Halsted Street in Lake View’s Boystown neighborhood. The five-story mixed-use structure will comprise of 7,600 square feet of ground-level retail, two floors of clinic space, and three floors of Howard Brown administrative office space on the remaining levels.

Eckenhoff Saunders Architects is the design architect behind the 67-foot-tall structure, whose updated renderings were revealed earlier this summer. The facade will be a contemporary mix of glass and brick of varying hues. A series of vertical bays will punctuate the west-facing side, while the top floor will be set back to allow for tenant terrace space. Inside, visitors and tenants will be welcomed to a multi-story open atrium lobby, with ample light provided by the glass curtain wall.

The development will come with 27 parking spaces and 20 bike spaces, while also offering an array of public transit options in close proximity. Nearest bus service is available for Route 8, with stops directly adjacent to the site via Halsted & Cornelia. For those looking to board the CTA L, the Red Line can be found at Addison station via a seven-minute walk northwest.

Heneghan Wrecking and Excavating is serving as the demolition contractor. Currently, no construction permits have yet been filed or issued, and an anticipated completion date has not yet been announced.
