Initial details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 535 N St. Clair Street in Streeterville. Located on the northeast corner with E Grand Avenue, the new structure will replace a three-story 255-space parking garage adjacent to some low-rise commercial and mid-rise residential buildings. Developer Mavrek Development is working with local architecture firm NORR on the design of the mid-rise that will bring new life to an often overlooked intersection.

A potential groundbreaking date has been revealed for the residential towers at 400 N Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville. Located on the long vacant site of the failed Chicago Spire development, the two new towers would partially utilize the foundation hole left by the Spire and provide a cap to the Ogden Slip. Developer Related Midwest who is also behind The 78 near the South Loop is working with globally famous skyscraper firm Skidmore Owings & Merrill on the design, the firm responsible for a number of Chicago’s major skyscrapers.

City Council Approves RIU Plaza Hotel Chicago at 150 E Ontario Street in Streeterville

The Chicago City Council has approved the proposed RIU Plaza Hotel Chicago at 150 E Ontario Street in Streeterville. Vacant for more than ten years, the project site is an infill site off of N Michigan Avenue. The midblock location is bound by two adjacent buildings spanning the block between N Michigan Avenue and N St. Clair Street. The Prime Group is the developer behind the proposal.
