With McHugh Construction leading the work as general contractor, construction has begun for a new indoor ride at Navy Pier called FlyOver (different from the Navy Pier Flyover infrastructure project), which will occupy 48,000 square feet. The project will occupy a 60-foot-high, 80-f0ot-wide volume of space that previously served as an IMAX theater.
Structural work is now sprouting above ground level for 150 E Ontario Street in Streeterville, set to give rise to a new 28-story hotel. Planned by The Prime Group, the 345-foot structure will house the RIU Hotels and Resorts chain, featuring 388 guestrooms. A cafe will also be located at the southeast corner of the building’s street level
This week a groundbreaking ceremony was held for The Saint Grand at 535 N St Clair Street in Streeterville. With Mavrek Development as the developer, the 238-foot-tall mixed-use structure will blend office space and 248 apartment units atop 45,000 square feet of commercial office space and 7,500 square feet of retail.
Taking ninth place in our year-end construction countdown, the 28-story hotel at 150 E Ontario Street is gearing up to rise in Streeterville. Developed by The Prime Group, the 345-foot-tall project will be the next location for the Spanish hotel brand RIU Hotels and Resorts, offering a total of 388 rooms. Additionally, a ground-level cafe will be situated at the southeast corner of the tower base.
At number 20 in our year-end construction countdown is the 21-story mixed-use tower in Streeterville known as The Saint Grand. Formerly the site of a parking garage that was demolished this year, this project at 535 N St Clair Street is being developed by Mavrek Development. The 238-foot-tall structure will blend office space and 248 apartment units atop 7,855 square feet of commercial space.
