Two local chefs are bringing a new market dedicated to Asian culture to Avondale next weekend. Cat Pham, who sells Vietnamese cuisine under @scratchsniffpurr on Instagram, and Ash Lemasters, the chef behind vegan bento box pop-up Snackie Chan, have founded the Azn Pryde Market. The first event is planned for 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, May 22nd at Metropolitan Brewing, 3057 N Rockwell Street in Avondale.
The redevelopment of Avondale’s Belmont Triangle will be subject to an upcoming community visioning process that kicks off on Thursday, April 28, at a virtual neighborhood meeting co-hosted by the Chicago Department of Planning and Development (DPD) and Alderman Ariel Reboyras.
A permit was issued earlier this month for the new construction of a four-story mixed-use building at 2915 W Belmont Avenue in the Avondale neighborhood. The owner of the permits is listed as Noonan Properties LLC, and the current plans indicate this project will yield six dwelling units and two retail spots. The second, third, and fourth floors will also feature front balconies. There will be a roof deck with six parking spaces. The build will replace a vacant lot.
