Construction continues on the second phase of the adaptive reuse development dubbed Mural Park. Located at 920 W Cullerton Street in Pilsen, the building is the second of two old warehouses that are to be transformed into Class-A office space. The site for the two buildings is bound by W 19th Street to the north, S Sangamon Street to the west, W Cullerton Street to the south, and adjacent buildings to the east, with S Peoria Street enclosing the full block.

City Council Approves Esports Stadium at 2500 S Wabash in Near South Side

The Chicago City Council has approved Surge eSports Stadium located at 2500 S Wabash Avenue in the Near South Side. Located along S Wabash Avenue, the project will utilize two different sites. The main property, located at 2500 S Wabash Avenue, is bound by E 25th Street to the north, S Wabash Avenue to the east, a four-story residential building to the south, and a public alley and CTA L tracks to the west. The lot currently holds a two-story brick building and surface parking lot for trailers. The secondary lot, located at 2617 S Wabash Avenue, is occupied by an existing surface parking lot and one-story masonry building at the intersection of S Wabash Avenue and E 26th Street.

City Council Approves Mixed-Use Development at 1229 W Randolph Street in West Loop

The Chicago City Council has fully approved a mixed-use development located at 1229 W Randolph Street in West Loop. Located at the intersection of W Randolph Start and N Willard Court, the corner lot currently houses a two-story masonry building. Thor Equities is the developer behind the proposal.

JDL Reveals Updated Plans for North Union, Expects Groundbreaking in 2021 in Near North Side

JDL Development has revealed updated plans for its 8.1-acre North Union megadevelopment in the Near North Side. Generally bounded by the CTA Brown Line tracks and W Oak Street, W Chestnut Street, and N Wells Street, the North Union site will spread across eight acres. The design team for the entire development includes Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture, Latent Design, and Omni Workshop.

Zoning has been approved for the new Belmont Cragin Elementary School located at 6100 W Fullerton Avenue in Belmont Central. Located in the southeastern corner of Riis Park, the site sits at the intersection of W Fullerton Avenue and N Meade Avenue. Public Building Commission of Chicago is the developer for the project, representing Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Park District.

The v-shaped project site is bound by N Kingsbury Street to the west, W Blackhawk Street to the north, and N Dayton Street to the east. Structured Development is in charge of the proposal.

Construction Tops Off on Cirrus and Cascade at Lakeshore East

Construction has topped off on Cirrus and Cascade, a pair of residential towers located in Lakeshore East. Officially addressed at 211 N Harbor Drive and 455 E Waterside Drive, respectively, Cirrus and Cascade are part of the larger Lakeshore East development within the Parcels IJKL. The site sits between N Harbor Drive and Lake Shore Drive, just south of the multi-level Wacker Drive. The towers are being developed by Lendlease and Magellan Development Group, with bKL Architecture in charge of the design.

Landmarks Commission Approves Demolition for 906 and 910 W Fulton Market in Fulton Market

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the demolition of structures at 906 and 910 W Fulton Market in Fulton Market. Located at the corner of W Fulton Market and N Peoria Street, the two structures are part of a redevelopment project spanning between 900 and 910 W Fulton Market. Shorewood Development Group is in charge of the project.
