The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) announced Wednesday the return of the popular Chicago Food Truck Festival at 50 W Washington Street in Daley Plaza. The festival features a rotating selection of food trucks from around the city on Fridays starting May 20th through October 7th. Food trucks will be available from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The hope is that as downtown workers return to offices, the festival will connect workers with small businesses at a classic Chicago landmark. Residents and visitors alike can enjoy a bevy of options in one convenient and central location. This will be the seventh year this festival has run.

“The Chicago Food Truck Fest celebrates our city’s legendary culinary cuisine while boosting our local economy,” said BACP Commissioner Kenneth J. Meyer. “We are thrilled to welcome back the Chicago Food Truck Fest, as well as downtown workers.”

The event will feature a variety of food trucks that represent the dynamic Chicago food scene. The full festival line-up will be announced weekly on BACP social media platforms and using the hashtag #ChiFoodTruckFest.

All participating food trucks must be properly licensed by the City of Chicago as a mobile food vehicles. Food truck operators that are interested in participating in this year’s fest are still eligible and may submit a completed application by visiting Chicago.gov/FoodTruckFest.
