Demolition has begun for 4640 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square

Last week, Precision Excavation began demolishing the two-story mixed-use brick building at 4634 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square, clearing the way for a residential development to begin construction. The new project by the Macon Construction Group has been approved, though not yet permitted, and will see a new six-story building link to the existing four-story structure at 4642 N Western Avenue.

3605 North Ravenswood permit issued

3605 North Ravenswood Avenue receives its building permit

The City of Chicago issued a full building permit on July 8 for 3605 N Ravenswood Avenue in North Center. While it was still pending, the permit for the six-story (five stories plus rooftop access to the sixth-floor amenity deck), 52-unit development showed the final hold, from the Department of Housing, had been released on July 5. That opened the door to allow construction to begin after a year-long delay in getting started.

Demolition permit for Church of Our Saviour in Lincoln Park makes space for new community center

A demolition permit has been issued by the City of Chicago for the rear property at 530 West Fullerton in Lincoln Park. That’s the home of the Church of Our Saviour, and they’re removing the current parish hall to build a new community center in its place. Issued May 13, the demo permit allows the teardown of the current two-story hall, with Precision Excavation assigned as the demolition contractor. The church building itself, a fixture in the Lincoln Park neighborhood for 150 years, will connect internally to the community center but is not being altered.
