Funding Secured For National Public Housing Museum In Near West Side

New funding has been secured for the National Public Housing Museum at 925 S Ada Street in the Near West Side. The project is part of the greater Roosevelt Square Plan which includes various residential developments led by Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority. The museum itself will be one of the first of its kind and occupy around 2/3rds of a larger shared building with 15 residential units. The funds will help kick-start construction on the proposal designed by the Chicago based firms of HED Architects and Landon Bone Baker Architects.

43Green Phase I Celebrates Topping Off Milestone in Bronzeville

Yesterday Mayor Lori Lightfoot and other city officials commemorated the topping off of a new residential building as part of the first equitable transit-oriented development on Chicago’s South Side. Known as 43Green and located at 4308 S Calumet Avenue, the $100 million mixed-income, mixed-use project, which is being developed in three phases, will bring approximately 300 new apartments to the Bronzeville neighborhood upon completion.

Chicago Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development at 9200 S Burley Avenue in South Chicago

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development located at 9200 S Burley Avenue in South Chicago. The project was planned by Interfaith Housing Development Corporation and Claretian Associates. The site itself sits at the southwest corner of E 92nd Street and S Burley Avenue. The property is comprised of a vacant lot and two disheveled buildings, both of which will soon be demolished.
