New tower crane in the South Loop will allow 1723 South Michigan to go vertical

Chicago’s newest tower crane has been erected in the South Loop, allowing a 13-story residential building at 1723 S Michigan Avenue to begin its ascent. 1723 South Michigan is a 149-unit rental tower from developer CMK Companies, and is designed by Gensler.

1723 South Michigan, a 13-story, 149-unit apartment project from developer CMK Companies, has set a tower crane base on the construction site in the South Loop. A pending tower crane permit on file with the City of Chicago will allow for the full assembly of the crane once the permit is issued.
