Chicago Plan Commission Approves Residential Conversion Of 1006 South Michigan Avenue

The Chicago Plan Commission on Thursday approved the conversion of the Graphic Arts Building at 1006 South Michigan Avenue in the South Loop from offices to residential use. The project required a change to Business Planned Development No. 1323, which includes the newly-opened 1000M residential tower next door at 1000 South Michigan. Two members of that development team, JK Equities and Oak Capitals, are the tandem working on the residential conversion. FitzGerald is the design firm for the project.

Evergreen Garden Begins Going 3D At 2128 South Tan Court In Chinatown

Concrete work is in full swing at 2128 South Tan Court in Chinatown, as Evergreen Garden begins to take form on the South Side. Columns have risen toward the back of the site along the railroad tracks, while crews are busy pouring concrete at ground level near the front. The crew is working on the northeast end of the large lot, building the first of two residential phases.

Leasing Begins For 633 S LaSalle Street In Printers Row

Leasing has begun for the new residential development dubbed ‘Straits Row’ at 633 S LaSalle Street in Printers Row. Located just south of the intersection with W Harrison Street, the new mid-rise replaced an empty lot across from the back of LaSalle Street Station. The project was led by Singapore-based Q Investment Partners and Melrose Ascension Capital.

Construction progress has reached the underside of the sixth floor at 919 W Fulton Market in the Fulton Market District. That’s where Fulton Street Companies is erecting an 11-story, 350,000-square-foot office building in Chicago’s Near West Side. Designed by Chicago architecture firm FitzGerald, 919 West Fulton will be adjoined to the neighboring six-story residential building being converted into office space, bringing the total square footage of the project to 530,000sf.
