Six New Affordable Homes Permitted For Bridgeport Residential Development

Six permits were issued by the City of Chicago on March 10 to build affordable single-family residences on South Stark Street in Bridgeport. The homes are part of a larger development that has already seen several townhomes and standalone buildings on the block bound by Stark Street, Hillock Avenue, Throop Street, and the rail tracks. Skyriver Throop Development LLC is behind the project, which replaces a light industrial building demolished back in 2018. MPI Contracting is named in the permits as the general contractor.

Site prep underway for Evergreen Garden at 2128 South Tan Court in Chinatown

With construction permits in hand, site preparation has begun for the first phase of Evergreen Garden, a six-story condominium development at 2128 S Tan Court in Chinatown. The former grass field under the CTA Orange Line tracks has been scraped of greenery in anticipation of general contractor MPI Contracting getting started on the project.

A construction permit has been approved for a new mixed-use development located at 3911 S Vincennes Avenue in Bronzeville. This four-story masonry edifice will provide a total of 18 residential units, coupled with ground-floor office space, replacing the previously vacant grass lot.

Permits Issued for New Mixed-Use Building in East Pilsen

Construction permits have been issued for a new mixed-use building located at 1705 S Canal Street in East Pilsen. The four-story structure will feature a 168-car, ground floor parking garage, retail spaces on the second and third floors, a restaurant on the third floor, and a bar on the fourth floor. According to the filing, the development is being spearheaded by New Chinatown Real Estate.
