Renderings Revealed for Updated Discovery Partners Institute within The 78

Last week, Governor JB Pritzker and the University of Illinois System’s Discovery Partners Institute revealed the design for their new headquarters in The 78. As part of its overall scheme, 78 will yield a vibrant new innovation district along the Chicago River. The new facility will be located on a one-acre sub-parcel in South Loop, and it will provide more than 200,000 square feet of office, classroom, laboratory, and event space for DPI and its university and industry partners.

Construction Concludes for Prairie Shores Clubhouse in Bronzeville

The new amenity clubhouse at Bronzeville‘s Prairie Shores residential complex has seen the completion of its new two-story amenity clubhouse. The building is the centerpiece of extensive renovation work that has been ongoing at the property. Golub & Company and Farpoint Development, who jointly purchased Prairie Shores in 2019 for $180 million, are responsible for the upgrades, which include interior renovations of the 1,675 residences, landscaping improvements, and common area upgrades.

Site Work Begins for Patio Dining at 817 W Lake Street in Fulton Market

Initial site work has been spotted at the site of 817 W Lake Street in West Loop‘s Fulton Market district. Developer Sancerre Realty has planned for a new patio area to accompany the adjacent BLVD Steakhouse. While these plans were originally intended to be temporary in anticipation for a new seven-story mixed-use building, the permit filing from January this year indicates that the patio will be permanent.

Revised Plans Revealed For New Life-Science Development At 400 N Elizabeth Street In West Loop

New revised plans have been revealed for a life-science development at 400 N Elizabeth Street in the West Loop. Developer Mark Goodman & Associates presented the plans for the Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed tower to the West Loop Community Organization last week. In the meeting they exemplified their collaboration with the neighbors of nearby lofts buildings and the Chicago Department of Transportation among others that led to the updated design.
