Updated details have been revealed as plans for the residential development at 3233 North Sheffield Avenue have been submitted for zoning by the development team. Located near the intersection of West School Street in Lake View, the large proposal will be replacing three industrial buildings that previously housed Torstenson’s Glass Factory.
Very preliminary details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 2800 North Sheridan Road in Lake View, as well as for the potential reopening of the CTA Green Line Racine station in Englewood. The new tower in Lake View comes as rents continue to rise across the city, while the station proposal is part of the newly signed Illinois Transit Authority Act.
The concrete foundation is in the ground for the sub-grade level of a new residential building at 1404 West George Street in Lake View. The three-story plus basement, two-unit structure replaces an 1885-built frame residence that was approved for demolition in September. The property was purchased in April for $920,000.
The City of Chicago has issued a permit for a new-construction masonry building at 1443 West Roscoe Street in Lake View. Ronan Construction applied for the permit on May 21 of this year, and it came through on October 10 with a reported cost of $920,000. It is one of two new developments they’re erecting on this block.
The Chicago City Council has approved a mixed-use development at 1215 West Belmont Avenue in Lakeview. Located near the intersection with North Racine Avenue, the project was originally announced this summer as a replacement for the now-vacant Stage 773 theater that occupies the site. The effort is being led by JAB Real Estate.
