A 1905-built greystone at 1325 West Cornelia Avenue just off the Southport Corridor in Lake View has been demolished, to be replaced by a two-unit building. After pending in the Chicago Data Portal for 78 days, a permit for demolition came through on July; a week later, it had been razed. Carlos Group was the demo contractor, at a reported cost of $20,000.
Details have been revealed for an upcoming mixed-use proposal at 1429 West Irving Park Road in Lake View. The project sits mid-block between North Southport Avenue and North Janssen Avenue and will replace a large surface parking lot near Graceland Cemetery. The plans were recently posted by 46th Ward Ald. Angela Clay.

Located just down the block from the CTA Belmont stop, the proposal will complement the first phase next door at 919 West Belmont Avenue and replace a two-story mixed-use building, for which a demolition permit was issued last week.
