Five Units Permitted For 3923 North Janssen Avenue In Lake View

A construction permit was issued by the city on April 25 to erect a three-story with basement, five-unit residential building at 3923 North Janssen Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. The new build replaces a residence and coach house at 3925 North Janssen that were both permitted for demolition on April 3 of this year, but as of April 28 had not yet been torn down. Tir Conaill Concrete is the demo contractor. The permit shows a reported construction cost of $2.15 million.

The concrete foundation has been set for the three-flat under construction just west of Graceland Cemetery at 1406 West Cuyler Avenue in Lake View. General contractor Skal Construction & Development got started on site prep and pile driving last month, as the residential building by GSL Design begins to take form. The new homes replace a long-vacant lot, though it had been improved with a small garage off the alley at the rear of the property until recently.

Construction progress is ongoing at 1445 West Roscoe Street in Lake View, where MMNT Development LLC is erecting a two-unit condominium building. V & M Development of Evanston is the general contractor for the project, which received a permit from the City of Chicago on August 29 of last year, following an application five weeks previous on July 23. At the time of issuance, construction costs were reported as $756,000.
