The City of Chicago issued a full building permit on July 8 for 3605 N Ravenswood Avenue in North Center. While it was still pending, the permit for the six-story (five stories plus rooftop access to the sixth-floor amenity deck), 52-unit development showed the final hold, from the Department of Housing, had been released on July 5. That opened the door to allow construction to begin after a year-long delay in getting started.
The City of Chicago issued a demolition permit for the three-story brick building at 4634 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square on July 5. The teardown will allow for the beginning of a 74-unit residential development on the property that is to include the existing four-story building next door.
Plans to redevelop the first floor of the former Maybelline headquarters at 5920 N Ridge Avenue in Edgewater are now moving forward. Sitting on the intersection with N Clark Street, the flat-iron style building currently holds residential units on its top floors. The project is being led by Ernst Development and Envoi Partners.
At 438 W St. James Place in Lincoln Park, The Saint James is beginning to take shape on a quiet residential side street. Situated less than a block from Lincoln Park’s North Pond, this five-story, four-unit condominium building will offer three 3,810-square-foot, five-bedroom condos, and one 4,215-square-foot, five-bedroom penthouse.
Details have been revealed for the expansion of the redevelopment of the former Maybelline headquarters at 5920 N Ridge Avenue in Edgewater. Located on the diagonal intersection with N Clark Street on the western edge of the neighborhood, the project will add on to the development called ‘The Mabel Exchange’. Efforts are being led by Ernst Development and Envoi Partners, with architecture-firm Hirsch MPG working on its design.
