Located on the intersection with N Halsted Street and replacing a massive Chicago Tribune facility, the proposal is the second attempt to develop the site across the street from the upcoming casino. Onni Group has filed a zoning application for a massive new development at 700 W Chicago Avenue in the River West neighborhood of Chicago, just across the river from the recently approved Halsted Pointe. The project will comprise four mixed-use skyscrapers of varying heights: 44-story, 56-story, 51-story, and 57-story towers. The design for this multi-phase project is the work of Goettsch Partners.

The Chicago city council has approved the mixed-use development at 357 N Green Street in the West Loop. Sitting on a unique wedged lot with N Halsted Street to the east, the site has long been vacant as it is traversed by the Kennedy Expressway on the northeast corner and is surrounded by different modes of transit. However now Canadian-developer Onni Group, who recently revealed their redesigned tower for Halsted Pointe nearby, is tackling the challenge with SCB serving as the architect and Confluence working on its landscape design.

Updated Details Revealed For Phase One Of Haslted Pointe On Goose Island

Updated details have been revealed for the first phase of the Halsted Point development at 901 N Halsted Street on Goose Island. Replacing the long-standing Greyhound Bus facility which is being demolished on the southern end of the island, the new multi-tower project will sit near the upcoming permanent casino just two-blocks to the south. Canadian-based Onni Group is behind the proposal with local firms Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture and Hitchcock Design Group on the team.

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 357 N Green Street in the West Loop. Bound by an elevated N Halsted Street to the east and a lower W Kinzie Street to the north, the proposed building merges the two heights with a cut-through plaza giving users access from both sides. The project is being led by Canadian-based Onni Group who is also behind Halsted Pointe on Goose Island, with architecture-firm SCB creating the design.
