400 Lake Shore Jumps The Tower Crane in Streeterville

The construction team of LR Contracting, BOWA Construction, and Goebel Forming jumped the tower crane at 400 Lake Shore in Streeterville this past weekend. Six new sections were delivered by truck to the site, and the erection crew placed them one at a time in the crane’s tower on Sunday. A permit allowing the crane to be tied in was issued by the city on March 10. The residential tower at 400 Lake Shore will yield 72 stories when completed.

Construction Continues on 400 Lake Shore North Tower in Streeterville

Construction progress continues on the 400 Lake Shore North Tower at the old Chicago Spire development site in Streeterville. Now that the Spire cofferdam has been filled in and excavated, it’s hidden from sight as the tower’s lower floors come into view. Amidst a sea of rebar, the ramp down to the lower parking levels is visible, and there’s a glimpse into the lowest two levels of sub-basement, while the rest of the site has grown even in height to the top of the concrete core.

Concrete continues to rise at 400 Lake Shore North Tower

The concrete core of the 400 Lake Shore North Tower continues to rise, and all evidence of the cofferdam from the Chicago SpireĀ  dream has disappeared, at Lake Shore Drive and the Ogden Slip in Streeterville. The team of LR Contracting and BOWA Construction, along with concrete contractor Goebel Forming, are making great progress on bringing Related Midwest’s 72-story residential skyscraper to life.
