4600 N Kenmore Avenue Rises Above Grade in Uptown District

Interior walls can now be seen rising above grade for 4600 N Kenmore Avenue, a five-story mixed-use building rising at the corner of Kenmore & Wilson in Uptown. The developer Cedar St. Companies has planned for 2,500 square feet of retail at the ground-level and 62 apartments on the upper floors. These units will range in size between studios and two-bedroom layouts, with select residences accommodated by private terrace space. Residents will have access to a top-level indoor lounge and connected outdoor terrace space.

Revised plans have been revealed for a proposed residential development at 640 W Irving Park Road in Uptown. Sharing sites with the existing Immaculata High School, the 22-story building will rise in front of Lake Shore Drive and offer residents unobstructed views of the lake. The project is being developed by KGiles LLC and CA Ventures and designed by Perkins Eastman with Level Architecture.

Adaptive Reuse Underway at Bridgeview Bank Building in Uptown

Both interior and exterior work is currently underway for the adaptive reuse of the 13-story Bridgeview Bank Building, located at 4753 N Broadway Avenue in Uptown. Previously known as the Sheridan Bank and Trust Building, the classically-styled structure was initially built at eight stories in 1925 before four additional floors were constructed in 1928. In 2007, the structure received landmark designation, before it was bought by Cedar St. Companies for $19 million in 2019.

Permits Issued for 4600 N Kenmore Avenue in Uptown

Partial construction permits have now been issued for a mixed-use development located at 4600 N Kenmore in Uptown. The project will involve the renovation of an existing two-story bank, as well as a new five-story building directly east. Developer Cedar St. Companies received approval this past February to develop the existing masonry building into a theater space. Meanwhile, the new construction will yield 2,500 square feet of ground-level retail, and 62 apartments on the upper floors.
