Plan Commission Approved Commercial Kitchen At 4100 W Ann Lurie Place In Archer Heights

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development has approved a new commercial building at 4100 W Ann Lurie Place in Archer Heights. Located near the intersection with S Keeler Avenue, the new structure will add on to the existing two-story facility operated by the Greater Chicago Food Depository and redevelop the empty lot to the west of it. The project has been in development since before 2019 by the depository and aims to increase the output amid increasing demand for their services.

Bridgford Foods Facility is Coming Down in Fulton Market

Earlier this month, YIMBY reported on the Committee on Design’s review of 170 N Green Street, where CRG (of St. Louis-based Clayco) and Shapack Partners have planned a massive mixed-use development. The Fulton Market site was previously owned by Bridgford Foods, whose former packaging facility is currently undergoing full demolition. Clayco purchased the property for $60 million in 2020, prior to which Bridgford Foods had considered its own plans for a 17-story building to occupy the site.

Updated plans have been reviewed by the Committee on Design for the mixed-use development at 170 N Green Street in the West Loop. The project has received a few design updates with new details being presented to a committee packed with famed local designers. Developer Shapack Partners is no stranger to the area, having developed 167 N Green Street directly east of the site and is partnering with the Lamar Johnson Collaborative on the new multi-tower structure.

Details Revealed For Mixed-Use Development At 170 N Green Street In Fulton Market

Updated details has been released for a mixed-use development at 170 N Green Street in the West Loop. Located just north of W Randolph Street, the multi-structure project will replace the old Bridgford Foods plant which was vacated in 2020 and is currently being demolished. The joint venture developers of St. Louis-based Clayco’s real estate division CRG and West Loop native Shapack Partners, have tapped the Chicago-based architecture firm Lamar Johnson Collaborative on the new design.
