Park District Breaks Ground On Margaret Hie Ding Lin Renovation In The South Loop

The Chicago Parks District has broken ground on a renovation of Margaret Hie Ding Lin Park located at 1735 S State Street in the South Loop. Joining the Parks District on the project is DePaul University as a part of its commitment to the neighborhood and use of nearby Wintrust Arena. Built in 1970, the 0.27-acre park has gained fame locally and nationally for its basketball court under the CTA Orange Line tracks and has had famed players like Michael Jordan and Derrick Rose play on its grounds.

Committee On Design Reviews Mixed-Use Development At 3201 W 31st Street In Little Village

The Chicago Committee on Design has reviewed a proposed mixed-use development at 3201 W 31st Street in Little Village. Envisioned as a campus, the now 30-acre development aims to bring life to a partially occupied lot enclosed by W 31st Street to the north, S Kedzie Avenue to the east, and the future Cinespace Campus 2 to the west. Developer Chicago Southwest Development Corporation (CSDC) has teamed up with HDR Architecture to design the massive southwest side complex.

Prairie Shores Resident Clubhouse Breaks Ground in Bronzeville

Yesterday, owners of the Prairie Shores apartments celebrated the groundbreaking of a new two-story resident clubhouse in Bronzeville. Spearheaded by Chicago-based firms Golub & Company and Farpoint Development alongside Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, the 17,510-square-foot structure will be nested between the 2901 and 2951 towers along Martin Luther King Drive. The five-tower Prairie Shores complex was purchased in 2019 and is undergoing a multi-phase renovation of its existing 1,675 residences, common spaces, and landscaping.
