Baruch Epstein of Lubavitch Chabad of Illinois is the filing owner, whose planned development will rise two stories and will include a basement level. The new construction is set to replace a vacant lot, so no demolition permits will be needed.
Demolition permits have been issued for a three-story masonry building at 2130 S Central Park Avenue, located near the southern edge of North Lawndale. It is unclear what the owner, EAM Properties LLC, is planning to have replace the former convent building. However, the property is zoned for RT-4, which allows for two-flats, townhouses, low-density apartment buildings, and single family homes. RT-4 also permits a floor area ratio of up to 1.2, whereby any new development may have up to 1.2 times the square footage of the lot itself.

Filed under owner Burl Rose, the property had an ordinance passed in 2018 allowing for the previous zoning designation of M1-2 Limited Manufacturing Business Park District to convert to C1-2 Neighborhood Commercial District. The site is currently a vacant lot and once housed a single-story masonry industrial building.
The proposed zoning has been approved for a six-story mixed-use development at 835 W Addison Street in Lakeview East. Located at the intersection of W Addison Street and N Reta Avenue, the new project will replace the existing Lakeview Lutheran Church. The church is collaborating with Over the Rainbow Association to execute the project.
