The first piles were driven into the ground at 1010 South Wells Street in the South Loop on Thursday, marking the beginning of the Riverline residential development. Eschewing caissons, those piles will provide the foundation for this 21-story, 386-unit building from CMK Properties. 1010 South Wells is the first, and northernmost, parcel to be developed for the multi-structure plan.
Plans are proceeding for ‘The Free To BE Village’ at 4427 N Clark Street in Uptown. Led by the Black Ensemble Theater across the street, the new mixed-use project will replace a one-story commercial building, parking lot, and small vacant lot on the corner with W Sunnyside Avenue. Made up of two buildings, the development will rise in two phases as well.
Renderings have now been revealed for the mixed-use proposal at 1010 S Wells Street in the South Loop. Earlier this week we covered when the project received its full building permit, with scanned drawings of its elevations being the only look we have had at the tower which received a major design change from its original renderings nearly a decade ago.
Updated plans have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 350 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market. Located on the intersection with W Carroll Avenue, the project is the latest to make the switch from office to residential in the growing neighborhood. Developer Sterling Bay has nearly doubled the project’s height with the switch.
The residential tower at 1723 South Michigan Avenue in the South Loop has topped out at 12 stories. While the 10 upper levels contain 149 rental units, the two-story podium will hold 89 parking spaces and ground-level retail space.
