Foundation Piles Are Underway For West Loop Bathhouse

The new Chicago Bathhouse is under construction, as piles are now being driven into the earth at Madison and Morgan Streets in the West Loop. Using the address of 8 North Morgan Street, the piles were permitted on January 24, so it took a little time to get started on this on. The application was filed on July 31 of last year, and the permit came with a reported construction cost of $600,000. A foundation permit has been pending in the Chicago Data Portal since September 9, 2024. There is no sign yet of a full building permit.

Stadium Plans Revealed For Chicago Fire FC In The 78

Initial details have been revealed for the new home of Chicago Fire FC within The 78. Located on the northern half of the site, the stadium will create a permanent home for the team, which relocated to Soldier Field from Bridgeview in recent years. Efforts for the mixed-use development are being led by the team’s owner, Joe Mansueto, and Related Midwest.

Demolition Permit Issued For 3601 West Chicago Clears Site For The Ave

A demolition permit has been issued for the single-story building at 3601 West Chicago Avenue in Humboldt Park. The permit comes through more than two months after a new construction permit was issued for The Ave INVEST South/West residential development at this location, the southwest corner of Chicago and Central Park Avenues. The former home of the West Humboldt Park Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago offices, it was permitted for demolition on May 21. Taylor Excavating is the demo contractor, at a reported cost per the permit of $35,000.
