The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the final landmark recommendation for the Monastery of the Holy Cross at 3101 S Aberdeen Street in Bridgeport. Located at the intersection of W 31st Street and S Aberdeen Street, the church structure was formerly the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved plans to redevelop the Ramova Theater located at 3518 S Halsted Street in Bridgeport. Fronting S Halsted Street, the project site is located just south of W 35th Street. The theatre was originally built in 1929, designed by architect Myer O Nathan. Our Revival Chicago LLC is the developer behind the rehabilitation, led by Tyler Nevius.
Construction permits have been issued for 18 adjacent three-story townhomes, divided between three buildings at 3122, 3124, and 3126 S Benson Street in Bridgeport. Bensen Place LLC is the filing owner of the homes, which will line a cul-de-sac driveway off of S Benson Street. Each 2,000-square-foot home will come with three bedrooms, a two-car garage on the first floor, and a rooftop terrace. Both the driveway and the homes will replace a previously vacant lot.

Permits have been issued for a two-story residential building located at 3213 S Union Avenue in the Bridgeport neighborhood. The owner Zhuo Hua Xie Kuo has planned for two total units, as well as a basement underneath. Three on-grade parking spaces will be provided on a planned slab in the rear. The project will be replacing a 1.5-story masonry residential building with a detached garage.
