A permit was approved yesterday for a new two-story residential building to be located at 2710 S Lowe Avenue in the Bridgeport community. The owner is listed as Victor Kuo and plans indicate this project will be a two-flat with a basement level, and will also have three on-grade parking spots. The development will replace an existing structure. A permit was issued to remove the previous structure last fall.

Steven Smutny is listed as the architect of record. As of now, no drawings or renderings have been made public. However, the filing’s two masonry contractors suggest the building will involve a brick facade.

Future residents will have plenty of transportation options readily available on foot. Route 44 bus service can be found at 31st Wallace & 28th Street via a two-minute walk east. Residents can find CTA L access for the Orange Line at the Halstead station via a 10-minute walk north. There are many dining and retail options along the nearby W 28th Street.

Kuo Construction will be acting as the general contractor on this project. The filing indicates that construction is expected to cost $250,000. A timeline or completion date for the project has not yet been revealed.
