Plan Commission Approves SRO Project at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved plans for a residential expansion of the existing Belray Apartments building at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview. The property and its parking lot are located right off of W Belmont Avenue and are operated by Mercy Housing, who is also developing the new expansion with architect Landon Bone Baker. Since we last covered the project in January, there have been a handful of changes including a decrease in total units.

Permits were issued earlier this week for a new residential build located at 1531 W Barry Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. EZMB LLC is listed as the permit owner for this property. The building will be a three-story, two-flat with a basement, a rear terrace at the first story, and a rear balcony at the second story. There will be an outdoor stair to the third story which will extend to the rooftop deck and enclosure. The structure will also feature a detached three-car garage with its own rooftop deck.

Zoning Appeal Approved For Residential Development In Lakeview

The Chicago Zoning Board of Appeals approved the zoning exemptions for a mixed-use development at 3244 N Lincoln Avenue in Lakeview. Located on an L-shaped lot just south of the intersection with W School Street, the new structure will replace a one-story building which has already been demolished, and a two-story building that fronts W Melrose Street. Developer 3244 Lincoln, LLC partnered with Lazlo Simovic Architects on the uniquely shaped project.
