Plan Commission Approves 2 New Developments, 3 Towers in West Loop

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved two projects bringing a total of three new towers to the ever-growing West Loop. Both projects have recently gone through design updates after receiving feedback from the Committee on Design and will now be able to move forward to the Chicago City Council for final approval. The projects consist of the two-tower project at 315 N May Street and 1112 W Carroll Avenue and the new life-science building at 400 N Elizabeth Street.

Revised Plans Revealed For New Life-Science Development At 400 N Elizabeth Street In West Loop

New revised plans have been revealed for a life-science development at 400 N Elizabeth Street in the West Loop. Developer Mark Goodman & Associates presented the plans for the Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed tower to the West Loop Community Organization last week. In the meeting they exemplified their collaboration with the neighbors of nearby lofts buildings and the Chicago Department of Transportation among others that led to the updated design.

Renderings Revealed for Laboratory Office Development at 400 N Elizabeth Street in West Loop

Renderings have been revealed for a proposed laboratory office development at 400 N Elizabeth Street in the West Loop. Fronting N Elizabeth Street, the irregularly shaped lot is bound by W Ogden Avenue to the west, N Elizabeth Street to the east, and Metra rail tracks to the north and south. The vacated W Kinzie Street runs along the southern edge of the property. Mark Goodman & Associates is the developer behind the project.
