Set to provide 73 affordable units, the six-story residential building has been spearheaded by Brinshore Development LLC, replacing what was previously a vacant grass lot.
An official groundbreaking has been held for the mixed-use development at 1959 W Lake Street in the Near West Side. Located on the intersection with N Damen Avenue adjacent to the CTA tracks and upcoming Damen Green Line station, the project dubbed Westhaven Park IID is the final phase of the greater Westhaven Park development near the United Center. Since YIMBY’s last update on the project, construction has completed for a five-story mixed-use building at 2709 W Division Street in Humboldt Park. Planned by Brinshore Development and the Puerto Rican Cultural Center, the structure has yielded a total of 24 affordable units atop a theater and ground-level retail. The new structure is set to replace four low-rise buildings demolished in 2021.
