Full Permits Issued For Covent Hotel Development In Lincoln Park

Full building permits have been issued for the remaining half of the mixed-use development at 2653 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. The new project will redevelop the existing Covent Hotel and build a new addition on its surface parking lot at 537 W Drummond Place which received the approval. Local developer Drummond Development has partnered with architecture firm Brininstool + Lynch on the design and restoration while working with the National Historic Preservation Foundation (NHP) on the latter.

Excavation Progresses for 140 N Ashland Avenue in West Loop

As excavation work wraps up for the new 12-story apartment building at 140 N Ashland Avenue in Near West Side, Marquette Companies is preparing to begin construction on the new mixed-use development. The new building will be integrated with a 1920s-era five-story masonry building directly south, yielding a total of 210 apartments atop ground-level retail. The development will yield at a minimum 10 percent on-site affordable units, with a remaining five percent either on site or off site.

Caisson Permits Issued for 140 N Ashland Avenue in Near West Side

This mixed-use development involves integrating the new building with an existing five-story masonry from the 1920s at the south end of the site. Demolition permits have now been issued for a three-story building at 140 N Ashland Avenue in Near West Side, where developer Marquette Companies has planned a 12-story mixed-use building. The to-be-demolished edifice formerly housed the Women’s Treatment Center, which has since relocated as part of a downsizing. Its replacement will integrate with an adjacent 1920s-era brick and limestone building, offering 210 apartments in total.

City Council Approves Redevelopment At 2653 N Clark Street In Lincoln Park

The Chicago City Council has approved the redevelopment and land-use agreement for The Covent Hotel mixed-use renovation at 2653 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Located on the corner with W Drummond Place just a few blocks from the lake, the proposal would reconvert the Single Room Occupancy (SRO) property into affordable studios led by the National Historic Preservation (NHP) Foundation. The approval would also allow for city funds to be distributed to NHP to fulfill the conversion that has been in the works since 2019.

Parq Fulton Wraps Up at 1400 W Randolph Street in West Loop

Final touches remain for the 26-story Parq Fulton tower, having topped out last summer at a height of 282 feet. Marquette Companies is the developer behind this mixed-use West Loop project, which integrates 10,000 square feet of retail and 278 rental apartments. With its address at 1400 W Randolph Street, the nearly complete structure replaces a low-rise commercial building and a parking lot.
