Cladding Nears Completion for The Row in Fulton Market

Facade work is in the final stretch for a new 43-story mixed-use tower known as “The Row,” now officially addressed as 164 N Peoria Street in Fulton Market. Developed by Related Midwest, the 495-foot-tall edifice is the West Loop’s second-ever skyscraper (above 150 meters / 492 feet in height), with the first being 727 W Madison Street, built in 2018. The $200 million project will feature 300 residential units, of which 60 will be affordable, and a 146-vehicle garage embedded within the podium.

First Permit Issued for Englewood Connect Firehouse Renovation

The first renovation permit has been issued for the old Engine Company 84, Truck 51 firehouse at 6204 S Green Street in Englewood. The rehabilitation is the first phase of a 4.28-acre culinary hub and event center oriented around healthy living, led by developer Englewood Connect LLC and designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Permits Approved For Affordable Mixed-Use Development In Englewood

Initial construction permits have been approved for the first phase of the mixed-use Thrive Englewood development at 914 W 63rd Street in Englewood. Located on the corner with S Halsted Parkway near Kennedy-King College, the multi-phase project received City Council approval late last year and is now one step closer to breaking ground. Developer DL3 Realty has worked on similar projects nearby including the recently announced Washington Park National Bank building, and is working with Perkins + Will on Thrive’s design.

Six-Story Mixed-Use Building Coming to 6249 S Sangamon Street in Englewood

A new six-story mixed-use building has received caisson permits at 6249 S Sangamon Street in Englewood. The project is being developed by Thrive Englewood and is being built to contain a total of 61 dwelling units, including 2 live/work spaces and ground floor retail. The architect of record listed in the project is Perkins+Will.

Developed by Related Midwest, the 495-foot edifice is West Loop’s second-ever skyscraper (above 150 meters in height), with the first being 727 W Madison Street, built in 2018. Full Permits Issued for 5200 W Chicago Avenue in Austin

Full construction permits have now been issued for 5200 W Chicago Avenue in Austin. The Oak Park Regional Housing Center and Heartland Housing Alliance have partnered to renovate and redevelop the historic Laramie State Bank building and an adjacent parking lot to the west.

West Loop’s 160 N Morgan Clenches 8th Place In Year-End Countdown

Quickly rising into the 8th place of this year’s countdown is the mixed-use tower at 160 N Morgan Street in the West Loop. Located just north of famed W Randolph Street in the growing neighborhood, the project recently had its first pieces of facade installed as it grows next to neighborhood stalwart Federales who just announced a Logan Square outpost. Developer Sterling Bay partnered with the Colorado-based equity firm Ascentris, both of which are also working on the 11th place of the countdown 225 N Elizabeth nearby, with bKL Architecture leading the design.

Permits Issued For Homan Square Supportive Mixed-Use Development

A new construction permit has been issued for the first phase of a mixed-use development at 3437 W Flournoy Street in Homan Square. Dubbed the Homan Square Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) project, the three-site proposal is being built in multiple phases with the lots centering around S Homan Avenue just south of the highway. Hoping to tackle various housing issues, the locally-led Foundation for Homan Square is envisioning the project with popular design firm JGMA working on the buildings.

900 Randolph Street Tops Out in Fulton Market District

The 43-story mixed-use tower at 900 Randolph Street has officially reached its full height, making it the second tallest building in West Loop. Related Midwest has planned for two levels of retail and 300 rental units within this 495-foot-tall tower.

Facade pieces can now be seen along 900 Randolph Street in West Loop’s Fulton Market District. The 43-story mixed-use tower is being developed by Related Midwest, who has planned an even taller development just one block southeast at 725 W Randolph Street. Given its height of 495 feet, the skyscraper will be the second tallest building west of the Kennedy Expressway.
