Facade work is now underway at 508 E Pershing Road, where The Community Builders has planned a four-story mixed-use building. With a roof height of 50 feet, the structure will offer 3,500 square feet of at-grade commercial space and 53 residential units planned for the upper floors. Approximately two-thirds of these units will be designated as affordable under the Chicago Housing Authority, while the remaining will be market rate apartments. Sizes are distributed into 50 one-bedrooms and three two-bedrooms.
Final facade work can be seen at 609 W Randolph Street, where Vista Property Group has planned a new dual-building mixed-use development. The assemblage consists of a renovated five-story masonry building, connected to a new 15-story tower in West Loop Gate. The footprint of the tower portion was previously occupied by a vacant parking lot.
Remaining brickwork is wrapping up for the mixed-use Southbridge Phase I in Near South Side. The construction comprises of two six-story buildings under the addresses 2310 S State Street and 2344 S State Street. McCaffrey and The Community Builders‘ plans for this initial stage comprise of a total of a total of 206 mixed-income apartment units and ground-level retail, divided evenly between the two mirrored structures.
Site prep has made significant headway at the site of 410 S Wabash Avenue in The Loop. The planned 25-story tower, under development by LMC, will house a mix of 344 rental apartments and 8,000 square feet of retail. Prior to construction, the site was occupied by a vacant parking lot.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development at 741 N Wells Street in River North. Fronting N Wells Street, the project site is bound by W Chicago Avenue to the north, a public alley and parking lot to the east, and a small parking lot to the south. The property currently consists of a historic masonry structure at 755 N Wells Street that will be retained, a one-story retail structure, and a three-story masonry structure. Vista Property Group is the developer behind the proposal.
