Facade Work Underway for Casa Durango in Pilsen

Facade work and installation are now underway for Casa Durango, a five-story mixed-use building at 1850 S Racine Avenue in Pilsen. The developer, known as The Resurrection Project, has planned for 1,610 square feet of retail and 37 affordable residential units. In order for the development to proceed, the site was re-zoned in 2019 from B3-2 Community Shopping District to B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District. As part of a broader 53-unit affordable housing plan, the developer is also building an additional 16 units nearby at 2008 S Ashland Avenue.

Permits Issued for 2008 S Ashland Avenue in Pilsen

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story affordable residential building situated at 2008 S Ashland Avenue, located in Pilsen. The new development, filed under the address 2010 S Ashland Avenue, will replace a two-story masonry building and a vacant lot.

Caisson Permits Issued for 1850 S Racine Avenue in Pilsen

Caisson permits have been issued for a new five-story mixed-income residential development, located at 1858 S Racine Avenue in Pilsen. The current plans comprise of a total of 37 dwellings. The owner, known as The Resurrection Project and filed under the name Casa Durango LP, received approval in 2019 to convert the zoning designation from B3-2 Community Shopping District to B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District.

City Council Approves City Funding for Affordable Housing Development at 2008 S Ashland Avenue in Pilsen

The Chicago City Council has approved city financing for an affordable housing development located at 2008 S Ashland Avenue in Pilsen. Located on an infill site, the property sits midblock between W Cullerton Street and W 21st Street, fronting S Ashland Avenue. The Resurrection Project is the developer behind the project.
