Additional financing has been approved for the second phase of Ogden Commons at 1312 S Talman Avenue in North Lawndale. Located north of the recently completed first phase along the intersection with W 13th Place, the project replaces an empty lot that previously held a public housing complex. Efforts are being led by Ogden Commons JV LLC with local architecture firm SCB working on its design.

Initial Details Revealed For Starling Community Center In North Lawndale

Details have been revealed for a new community center at 1600 S Sawyer Avenue in North Lawndale. Located on the southwest corner with W 16th Street a few blocks west of Douglass Park, the new project will replace a vacant lot and offer neighbors new opportunities. Chicago-based Duo Development is leading the project with Canopy Architecture and McKay Landscape Architects working on its design.

Developers Receive Financing for Ogden Commons Phase II

Ogden Commons, a $200 million masterplan that will bring new homes, shops, and health services to North Lawndale, is moving forward with its second phase. The Habitat Company, along with Sinai Health System, Alecko Capital, and the City of Chicago, announced that they have secured financing for OC Living’s first phase, a 92-unit building with predominantly affordable apartments. The project is located in the city’s largest opportunity zone, which means it will benefit from tax incentives and attract more investment to the West Side.
