The City of Chicago has issued permits for a renovation project at 1331 South Karlov Avenue in North Lawndale. The project, which is being led by owner Rachelle Sanders, plans to revitalize and refresh the two-story, two-unit frame building at the address.
The renovation has been designed by architect Luis Martinez, and encompasses a comprehensive interior overhaul along with the removal of an existing rear enclosed porch. In its place, a new two-story frame rear addition will be built. The front open wood porch will also undergo repairs.
Nurturing Greatness Inc is in charge of general construction work. The project’s budget is $85,000.
1331 South Karlov Avenue is located steps from bus service for Route 53. Beyond that, the Pulaski CTA Station, which services the Pink Line, is a 17-minute walk to the south of the property.
