The design of the project blends the past and present, incorporating the original limestone walls of the church. The developer for the project is Don Jackson, CEO of Central City Productions and founder of the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, in collaboration with architect Dirk Lohan of Wight & Company.

Permits have been approved for the mixed-use development at 535 E 47th Street in Bronzeville. News first broke on the proposal located on the corner with S St Lawrence Avenue in April of this year, the multi-phase project will replace a vacant lot near the CTA Green Line at 47th station in the growing neighborhood. Developer Bronzeville Corridor LLC is leading the project and working with local firm SGW Architecture & Design.

Site preparation can be seen for the Bronzeville Lakefront megadevelopment, led by the development coalition known GRIT Chicago. The $3.8 billion mixed-use redevelopment of the historic site of the former Michael Reese Hospital is a collaboration between local firms Farpoint Development, Loop Capital, Draper & Kramer, Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives, McLaurin Development, and the Bronzeville Community Development Partnership.
