Details Revealed For Murphy Auditorium Renovation In River North

Details have been revealed for the renovation of the John B. Murphy Memorial Auditorium at 50 E Erie Street in River North. Located just east of the intersection with N Wabash Avenue and adjacent to the famed Driehaus Museum, the stone-clad structure is well known for its internal performance space and facade which has appeared multiple times in media. Now the museum itself is embarking on the renovations joined by Antunovich Associates and Bulley & Andrews on its design and engineering.

Facade Underway for Hugo Development in River North

Brickwork and metal paneling can now be seen undergoing installation along the two-building development known as Hugo in River North. Developer LG Group has planned for a total of 227 for-rent apartments across nearly 150,000 square feet of total floor area. Both nine stories, the larger edifice at 751 N Hudson Avenue will yield 134 new units while 411 W Chicago Avenue will yield 93 residences. The mixed-use project will also provide approximately 19,000 square feet of ground-level retail space. The two structures are almost adjacent save for an existing two-story building that lies between them.

The 60-story Salesforce Tower is now receiving its finishing touches at 333 W Wolf Point Plaza in River North. The mixed-use, primarily office tower is a collaboration between Hines and longtime landowner, the Joseph P. Kennedy Family, marking the completion of the three-tower Wolf Point masterplan. With its 850-foot stature, the tower makes a bold statement on the northwest corner of Chicago’s skyline, and is prominently visible when approaching from the northwest along the Kennedy Expressway.
