Eight tower cranes dot Chicago’s skies to begin June 2024

Chicago has eight working tower cranes across the city as the month of June begins. They’re located as far south as the 6600-block of S Dr Martin Luther King Drive in Woodlawn, but barely reach north of the Chicago River, with the furthest northern crane working in the 400-block of N Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Obama Presidential Center Nears Full Height in Jackson Park

Construction is nearing full height for the Obama Presidential Center at 6000 S Stony Island Avenue in Jackson Park. The center, spearheaded by the Obama Foundation, will replace a portion of the park that formerly housed a football field, situated southwest of the Museum of Science and Industry. The architectural design is a collaborative effort between Interactive Design Architects and Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, while the landscape architecture is being handled by a team consisting of Living Habitats, Site Design Group, and Michael van Valkenburg Associates.

Details Revealed For Obama Presidential Center Programs & Athletics Center In Jackson Park

Updated details have been revealed for the new Obama Presidential Center Programs & Athletics Center near 6001 S Stony Island Avenue within Jackson Park. Located on the southern edge of the center’s site, the expanded building will sit just north of the intersection with E Hayes Road. Efforts for the new facility are being led by the Obama Foundation and the center itself.

Obama Center Climbs To 16th Spot In Year-End Countdown

Taking the 16th spot on this year’s countdown is the Obama Presidential Center at 6000 S Stony Island Avenue in Jackson Park. Located within Jackson Park just south of the Museum of Science and Industry, the new center will be replacing a portion of the park that previously held a football field. Led by the Obama Foundation, the complex is being designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and landscaped by Michael van Valkenburg Associates.
