Construction is underway for 3605 North Ravenswood in Lake View

Construction has begun for the 52-unit 3605 North Ravenswood residential development in Lake View. Located on the northeast corner of the intersection connecting Addison Street, Ravenswood Avenue, and Lincoln Avenue, the six-story building is being developed by Macon Construction (also the general contractor) and Stocking Urban. Designs by Hirsch MPG call for the sixth floor to serve as an amenity deck, with the ground floor holding two commercial spaces. There will be 12 off-street parking spaces on the alley off Ravenswood.

904 West Dakin Street construction permitted

The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for a residential development at 904 West Dakin Street in Lake View. The new building replaces a frame multi-unit home addressed as 906 West Dakin. A demolition permit was issued for that property on February 1 of this year; it was torn down shortly thereafter

Concrete core on the rise for Lakeview Landing

Foundation work is done, and the concrete core has started to rise, for the new affordable housing development at 835 West Addison Street in Lake View. Lakeview Landing is going to be a six-story, 37-unit building located just two blocks from Wrigley Field and the Addison Red Line platform.

Demolition complete, foundation work underway, at 707 West Briar Place

Demolition of a greystone multi-unit residence at 707 West Briar Place in Lake View has wrapped, yielding the way to foundation work for a new four-story with basement condominium development. Developed and built by Ronan Construction, the building will hold six condos, topped by a roof deck. There will not be a detached garage, but six outdoor parking spaces will be available to condo owners. Michael Cox & Associates is the architect listed on the new construction permit, issued January 26 of this year.

Construction progress at 3951 North Wayne Avenue in Lake View has graduated to walls and bricks. The apartment building that replaces a now-demolished Burger King restaurant got started back in April, on its way to delivering 31 new rental units to the north end of the Wrigleyville neighborhood.

Two condominium units under construction at 1436 West School Street

Construction is in progress for a pair of condominiums at 1436 West School Street in Lake View. The new building replaces a multi-unit two-story home, built in 1890, that previously occupied the site. That property received its demolition permit in March and was quickly dispatched.

A two-story frame residence at 1448 West Diversey Parkway in Lake View is getting two new leases on life. While many buildings its age in Chicago are being demolished, this two-unit, 143-year-old structure is not only getting rehabbed, it’s also getting a new addition.

At 1352 West Diversey Parkway in Lake View, a new four-story, three-unit residential building is in the midst of construction. The project, from Chicago-based Halcyon Development Group, replaces a three-story frame residence demolished in 2022. That building, constructed in the 1910s, was addressed as 1354 West Diversey.

Two-unit residential building rising quickly at 1450 West School Street in Lake View

A two-unit residential building that began construction in May of this year is progressing quickly at 1450 West School Street in the Lake View neighborhood. Foundation work was underway for the project when we were here in the spring; it has now risen to its full three-story height.

Garage permit issued as residential construction continues at 3050 North Greenview Avenue

The exterior is mostly finished, and the interior buildout continues, at 3050 North Greenview Avenue in Lake View. Permitted in July of 2023, this brick-clad four-story structure will deliver three residential units to the neighborhood, topped by a roof deck.
