CDC Approves $6 Million TIF For Park Boulevard Phase 3B at 3603 S Federal Street in Bronzeville

The Community Development Commission has approved $6 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) money for the development of Park Boulevard Phase 3B located at 3603 S Federal Street in Bronzeville. Part of the larger Park Boulevard community, the project is the next step in redeveloping the site of the former Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) Stateway Gardens housing projects. The overall property is bound by W 35th Street to the north, S State Street to the east, W 39th Street to the south, and the Metra tracks to the west. This portion of the plan is oriented along S Federal Street anchoring the stretch between W 35th Street and W 37th Street at each end. Stateway Associates LLC is the developer behind the project.

Construction Imminent for Edith Spurlock Apartments at 2700 N Sheffield Avenue in Lincoln Park

Construction is expected this summer for Edith Spurlock Apartments at 2700 N Sheffield Avenue in Lincoln Park. Located on the site of the existing Edith Spurlock Apartments, the residential complex spans from N Lincoln Avenue to W Diversey Parkway. Chicago Housing Authority and Pirhl are the developers behind the project.

Construction Wraps Up on First Phase of Ogden Commons in North Lawndale

Construction is nearing completion on phase one of the Ogden Commons development in North Lawndale. Located on a larger development site, the new 10-acre, mixed-use project is bounded by W Ogden Avenue, S Washtenaw Avenue, S Talman Avenue, S Rockwell Street, and W 13th Street. Phase one is located at 2652 W Ogden Avenue, between S Washtenaw Avenue and S Talman Avenue.

Construction Progresses on 2310 and 2344 S State Street of Southbridge Development in the Near South Side

Construction is progressing on two residential buildings, part of the larger Southbridge development in the Near South Side. Addressed at 2310 S State Street and 2344 S State Street, the two buildings front along S State Street, between W 23rd Street and W 24th Street. The nearest public transportation is the 29 CTA bus route, running past the development on S State Street, with stops at 23rd and 24th Streets. The Cermak-McCormick Place CTA L station, serviced by the Green Line, is a five-minute walk away from the site.

Renderings Revealed for Mixed-Use Development at 508 E Pershing Road in Douglas

Construction is imminent at 508 E Pershing Road in Douglas, site of a future four-story mixed-use development. The Community Builders, Inc is developing the property that sits at the intersection of E Pershing Road and S Rhodes Avenue. The nearest CTA bus transit is the Pershing and Rhodes stop, serviced by Route 39 at the corner of the property.

Phase 1 Construction Begins on Southbridge Masterplan in the Near South Side

Construction has begun on two residential buildings as part of the larger Southbridge development in the Near South Side near Chinatown. The six-story structures are addressed as 2310 S State Street and 2344 S State Street. The master-planned development will create over 900 affordable housing units to serve the southern side of Chicago, replacing the previous Harold Ickes Homes demolished in 2010. The site has frontage along State Street between W 23rd Street and W 24th Street. The nearest public transportation is the 29 CTA bus line running past the development on State Street with stops at 23rd and 24th Streets. Additionally, the Cermak-McCormick Place CTA station, serviced by the Green Line, is a five-minute walk away.
