A new construction permit has been issued for a proposed three-story, six-unit residence at 1412 North Elk Grove Avenue in Wicker Park. The building, when complete, will feature a roof deck, first floor terrace, second floor balcony, and attached two- and four-vehicle garages with roof decks. The permit is conditionally approved pending the release of a different full wrecking permit.
Plans have been revealed for a new residential development at 1230 N Paulina Street in Wicker Park. Located just north of the intersection with W Division Street and bound by N Hermitage Avenue to the west, the proposal will replace a large tree-covered lot currently occupied by a single house. Masonry work is nearing completion on a topped-out four-story residential building at 1355 North Western Avenue in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The 12-unit elevator building was permitted by the City of Chicago back on November 10, 2022, so there must have been some delays. But crews are active at the site now.
Yesterday, we looked at the beginnings of construction for the Kensington School West Loop. Today, we see construction has topped out for the Kensington School Bucktown early childhood education center in Wicker Park. Located at 1745 North Damen Avenue, the three-story, 25,000-square-foot building is a design by Charles Vincent George Architects. Along with daycare facilities, the Kensington School Bucktown will also include art and music rooms, and a rooftop play area. The Lauder Group is on the build.
