Developer Reveals Updated First Phase Plans For One Central Project

Landmark Development has revealed further details for the first phase of its One Central mega-development, which will cap the rail tracks in the Near South Side. Although often considered the most ambitious of the current mega-projects proposed for the city, such as The 78 and Lincoln Yards, Landmark is pushing forward with the Gensler-designed complex despite recent worries that The Chicago Bears could depart from nearby Soldier Field. The first phase will come at a cost of $3.8 billion and is being dubbed as the ‘Civic Build’ phase of the project.

Window Installation Wraps Up for 2401 S State Street in Near South Side

Final face brick is being installed at City Pads2401 S State Street, a four-story residential building situated at the corner of State & 24th Street in Near South Side. Plans shown in the building’s issued permits call for 33 total apartment residences, along with 10 off-street parking spaces and storage for 33 bikes. This new development is replacing a formerly vacant grass plot.

Final Brickwork Underway at Southbridge Phase I in Near South Side

Remaining brickwork is wrapping up for the mixed-use Southbridge Phase I in Near South Side. The construction comprises of two six-story buildings under the addresses 2310 S State Street and 2344 S State Street. McCaffrey and The Community Builders‘ plans for this initial stage comprise of a total of a total of 206 mixed-income apartment units and ground-level retail, divided evenly between the two mirrored structures.
